Episodes one and two both were missed opportunities whilst on an exaggerated loop around continental United States. The first near miss was foiled by mother nature, heavy rains prohibited a visit to the Carolina outer banks. The second, the extremity of the United States to the northeast in Maine. Both remain on the short list of places to visit. Detouring away from the happy times and near misses on the winding American roadways, the third episode goes overseas. To continental Europe, the low country.

A second trip to Europe, this time, solo. The first visit was with a cousin. We toured Amsterdam, Prague, and Munich. Limited to 10 full days in Europe we had to agree on an itinerary before jetting across the expanse of North America and the Atlantic.

It was a memorable trip, filled with a fair mix of high culture, museums and historic sites and most nights imbibing city to city. After all, our adventure culminated in Munich during Oktoberfest. We had to practice. The Bavarians take seriously the ancient traditions of beer.

Fast forward six years, my solo adventure also had a tight timeline, however I was in control of the itinerary this time. A repeat trip to Netherlands was a given. The previous stay in the canal city demanded another visit. This time, the goal was to explore more of the Netherlands…
