A rock radio rarity. Instrumental songs. Virtually every popular artist plays a track without vocals. This edition, we explore guitar forward songs. The spotlight is on expert guitarists, and there are many to select from. Scanning the radio airwaves, the instrumentals are few and far between. “Frankenstein” by Edgar Winter Group still gets radio love forty years on. There must be equally deserving instrumentals. Let’s face it, vocals have an impact on what songs we like. Instrumentals can’t hide behind a powerhouse vocal. The music is what you get, six string maestros in this installment. Here’s a primer for a genre of song missing on your radio waves.

She will front a speed metal band tomorrow if she desires. Her precision is beyond envy. Respect the guitar playing acumen. A song no rock radio listener would conceive hearing.
