The best of all time in sport arises from supposed obscurity every once in a while. Brady is one of those athletes. He was a champ in college. His skill set entering the pros was in question, thus a sixth round selection, pick number 199. He was a second stringer to a star quarterback in New England. He earned his chance and never looked back. He sets the standard for quarterback play at the highest level. He will win again. Make history again. Brady will win another NFL championship…with the 49ers.

Tom grew up in the 49er fan halo. He was a youth in the heyday of Montana, Lott, Walsh, Rice and some unsung, witnessing up close some winners do it quietly, with grace, yes you John Taylor and Tom Rathman. What better feeling could you have than come home and, get one more.

This time, he’s going to do it as a contributor, not the starting quarterback. Making his legend greater. Brady will be the athlete on the field ala Taysom Hill, a step or two slower. Jimmy Garoppalo is an outstanding, talented player. Some call his level of play at quarterback a “game manager”. Most fans will be happy to enthusiastically support a “game manager” because as fans we see it translate into championships, think Phil Simms and Jim Plunkett, both two-time Super Bowl champs.
